Today, May 29, EnP signed an agreement with Oil Group, in a videoconference ceremony (Rio de Janeiro/BR, Vitória/BR, and Aracruz/BR, Houston/US, Calgary/CAN, and Bergen/NOR), with the participation of the State Secretary of Development of Espírito Santo, Marcos Kneip Navarro. This agreement aims to develop construction projects for the Refinaria Espírito Santo (RefinES) and the Fábrica Capixaba de Lubrificantes e Asfalto (LubCap), in locations to be defined in the State of Espírito Santo, Brazil.

Oil Group is an integrated American oil and gas company involved in data acquisition, exploration and production, and refining. It has 10 onshore and offshore assets in Northeastern Brazil and plans to build 6 small refineries in the Brazilian states of Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Bahia, Maranhão, Sergipe/Bahia, and Mato Grosso do Sul.

EnP is a Brazilian innovative business platform in the energy sector and works to conceive, develop, and operate energy ecosystems, seeking a balance between the different sources of energy and their uses. To this end, based on Brazil’s vast energy portfolio, EnP works to identify opportunities and synergies, through strategic alliances and innovative business models.

The refinery RefinES will have an initial capacity of 30,000 bbl/day, generating gasoline, diesel, marine diesel oil (bunker), and fuel oil. The lubricant and asphalt plant LubCap, on the other hand, will have an initial capacity to produce 1,000 bbl/day of lubricants and 500 tons/day of asphalt, adding value to heavy oil produced onshore in Espírito Santo.

The implementation of these projects in Espírito Santo is part of EnP’s plans for the development of an Energy Ecosystem in the State, one of the best states to invest in Brazil.
